Free Concerts and Plays
There are many free concerts and plays throughout the five boroughs during the summer. Check out the Free and Low-Cost NYC Park Event list for upcoming shows or festivals in your area. We love the Summerstage concerts during the summer, bringing great live music and good vibes to the city. You may also enjoy Shakespeare in the Park, a must-see for all Shakespeare lovers and one of NYC’s most beloved free summer events. First held in 1962 at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park, it still attracts thousands of visitors annually, so show up early to get a spot! The Celebrate Brooklyn! Summer concert series held in Prospect Park Bandshell features many amazing artists to celebrate one of New York’s coolest boroughs.

The Museum Mile Festival, or New York’s Biggest Block Party, offers free access to some of the world’s most renowned museums and art collections, including El Museo del Barrio, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Cooper-Hewitt, the Jewish Museum, the National Academy Museum, Neue Galerie, the Museum of the City of New York and the Africa Center, as well as many activities and performances for every age groups!

Broadway in Bryant Park
