It’s October 14th. Summer is definitely gone and temperatures slowly start to go down as Fall is settling in. But Fall is still one of our favorite seasons in the City. If you are planning to visit New York this Fall, here is list of activities you should not miss!

Fall in New York is a wonderful season, during which trees all around the city wear beautiful yellow, orange and red colors. One of the best spots to admire this unique scenery is Central Park. Visit by foot, bike, pedicab or even with a horse carriage if you are in a more romantic mood!
Another option is to leave town and go upstate explore the Hudson Valley and its matchless views. Join the Bear Mountain cruise for a one-day journey that’ll take you to the famous Mountain while you admire the beautiful foliage all along. There, you’ll even have 2 hours to go for a walk and celebrate Oktoberfest !

Try your luck in the Best Costume Contest at the Village Halloween Parade. Or just go to admire the costumes. Because Halloween is a real show in the Big Apple, and New Yorkers are huge fans of this event! From buildings and shops, to children and pets, it’s the whole town that dresses up!
And yes, you read it right: even pets! There’s a dog parade, the Halloween Dog Parade, and the costumes are absolutely worth seeing!

From Staten Island to Central Park, through Williamsburg and Queens, the famous New York Marathon spreads across the five boroughs of New York in a sporty and festive atmosphere. This is one of the most prestigious events of the year in New York. Bibs are booked well in advance and the best locations to watch the race are often occupied well before the departure of the race.
Feel free to come and cheer the runners along the route (view the map here). You might even catch a glimpse of one of the many celebrities who run the marathon every year!

Back To Childhood With The Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade
If you are in New York for Thanksgiving, do not miss the parade organized every year by the department store Macy’s. Floats, performances and giant balloons of famous cartoons and enternainment figures parade for over 3H to the delight of the thousands of spectators. Our advice to make the most of the parade: come early to book your place!

Visit a Farmer’s Market
Just like trees, markets across New York City put on their Fall colors and stalls are filled with seasonal fruits and vegetables. Try the hot apple cider and pumpkin pie, real stars of season and admire the stalls full of pumpkins of different shapes and colors. Or for a more exotic activity, go apple picking! An ideal activity if you are staying with the whole family, your kids will love it!
We hope you enjoyed this short list. If you have other ideas of fun activities to do this Fall in NYC, please don’t hesitate to share them in the comments below!
